Symmetry Continues Partnership with Plan USA

16:10 EST Thursday, November 20, 2008

MILPITAS, Calif. (Business Wire) -- The season of giving is underway for Symmetry, the direct selling business that focuses on improving the health and wellness of individuals. Symmetry's business partners are collectively continuing the company's mission in "changing people's lives for the better" – which includes helping disadvantaged people worldwide.

For nine years, Symmetry has partnered with Plan USA to help alleviate the pain and suffering of families in developing countries so they can lead better lives. The Plan USA organization is committed to helping underprivileged children, families and communications meet their basic needs like home construction, waste disposal and safe drinking water, and increase their ability to participate in and benefit from their societies.

"This is the time of year where many of us reflect on our own lives and try to help others who are less fortunate," said Rudy Revak, president and chief executive officer for Symmetry Corporation. "Symmetry always seeks ways to help people when it comes to health and wellness, but the company also makes strides through humanitarian efforts."

Currently, Symmetry is working with disadvantaged students in China. Over 10,000 students and over 600 teachers will benefit from current projects in Chunhua and Jia Xian PU that include upgrading a schools' kitchen, building a sty for pigs and a hen house. The school-based nutrition and health project also includes helping to transport livestock to the schools for the upcoming school year; purchasing cows, pigs, goats and chickens for them; purchasing a soybean machine, refrigerator and heat container; training nutrition to parents and teachers, facilitating and developing a curriculum on nutrition and health within the schools and building latrines at the schools.

For several years, the company's business partners and families have contributed to Plan USA and its efforts. Some have even sponsored children around the world, building relationships with them by exchanging pictures, gifts, letters and donations, Revak said. Symmetry customers have also lent a helping hand. "Our clients can add $1, or any other amount, per month to their order and that goes directly to Plan USA's efforts. A small contribution can lead to huge rewards."
