Bennett Jones is pleased to welcome Edward Goldenberg to the firm. Eddie joins the firm as a corporate partner and will be advising clients on strategic and governance issues, public policy and government-related matters.

Eddie has a distinguished background working with the Government of Canada, having been the Senior Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister of Canada (1993-2003) and the Prime Minister's Chief of Staff (2003). During his involvement with the Prime Minister's office, he was heavily involved in the preparation of 10 federal budgets, meetings between the Prime Minister and the provincial premiers, meetings with the heads of government of numerous countries, including all of the G-8 countries, the Team Canada trade missions, cabinet and cabinet committee meetings.

Prior to these roles, Eddie acted in various capacities in the federal government, including in all the major economic departments and as Special Constitutional Advisor to the Minister of Justice (1980-1982). He is also one of the authors of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Eddie recently authored the best-selling book The Way It Works: Inside Ottawa.

He will be dividing his time between the firm's Toronto and Calgary offices, and from an office in Ottawa.
